​The main idea of my collage was to bring awareness to the littering problem that occurs all throughout the world. I want the viewer to know that when they litter it makes everything look so dirty and gross, and that more people seem to liter than throw away their trash in a trash can. The three symbols I used were there were more hands on the left not throwing trash away to represent that more people litter than throw away trash. The second symbol was those hands are black and white because it makes it look ghostly and when you throw trash on the ground you are basically "killing" the Earth. The last symbol I used was I tried making the trash look big and stand out to show that it will be easy to throw away trash, just people are too lazy and throw it next to a trash can or wherever they walk. The process I went through to get to my final project is think of a few ideas on what to do. In the sketchbook I created a few thumbnails and my beginning idea was to create a "trash monster" with trash and a storm going on in the background. When I started with that idea I soon figured out that it wouldn't portray the message that littering is bad as good as I wanted so i then switched to the idea of just a big trash can and hands from the side throwing away and not throwing away trash. Overall I feel like this collage turned out a lot better than I expected and really portrays the message that littering is bad and is one of my biggest pet peeves.
