    A legacy is defined as something handed down from another person. This “something” could either be a physical object or even just memories. People nowadays focus on wanting money rather than keepsakes from family members that have passed away. The idea behind my photo is that when people get valuables from passed loved ones they often are disappointed if it’s not something worth a tremendous amount of money or money itself. The subject in the photo is upset at the “legacy” her loved one has left behind. Her facial expression is in a way showing disgust and disappointment because she has been left with an old radio from her grandma. To the grandma the radio had sentimental value but since society has become very greedy the girl doesn’t appreciate it in the way the grandma did because it has no value to her (money wise).

    The photo is taken in a room rather than a white or black backdrop to have the girl be in the natural environment this sentimental object has been given to her. Her facial expression and body language express how the girl is in a way disgusted with the object. By having the girl in the room and her body language being upset solidifies the idea that society doesn’t appreciate sentimental values as much as they use to. Legacies are left to be appreciated and the subject of the photo clearly doesn’t appreciate the most irreplaceable treasure given to her by her grandmother.
